Every week, the Get My Auto team brings you a new episode of Cruising USA—the series where we take to the streets and talk with regular drivers about their vehicles of choice. This week, we head to Venice Beach, where a fellow named Billy has much to say about his Chevy Tahoe!

The Real Story Behind the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Billy drives a Tahoe dating back to 2004—so while the vehicle’s definitely seen some wear and tear, Billy says it’s been holding up quite well. Billy also explains that he initially bought the car used, after reading some reviews that indicated it was rugged and reliable. That, and its good looks, are what attracted Billy to the Tahoe.

Today, the Tahoe has 60,000 miles on it—and it’s still working just fine. He recently replaced the water pump, and has had to do some routine brake maintenance, but beyond that, he’s not had any issues. Billy tells us most Tahoes run for 180,000 miles or more, so clearly, he’s got a long way to go!

On a scale of 1 to 10, Billy says he gives his Tahoe a 10.
